Who is Mama, who am I and what the heck is a biscuit made of?

Mama was and still is the love of my existence.  She was my paternal grandmother that raised me and fed me biscuits most of my life.  I love her today as much as the day I first remember her. She passed away and as much as it hurt me, I realized how truly wonderful my life has been to have her as the person to lead me and teach me about life.  I have tried to take the many lessons that she and Daddy taught me and use them in a positive manner. Of the many things that I learned over the years with her, I think that watching her cook was the most amazing thing.

The biscuits are important because everyday we had them for breakfast, lunch, if any were leftover from breakfast, and then again for dinner sometimes.  What is funny to me is that most people have no clue how to make a biscuit.  For me, it is a simple routine that I really don't give much thought to. I seldom use a recipe and recently I seem to be confident enough to believe that I can  make them with my eyes closed.  I dare someone to challenge me to do it too.  I think that I can do it even without a single run through.  They say that we all have a secret talent.  I think I found mine.

I have really spent many hours researching biscuits and how to make them the best that I can.  I have tried this way and that way and even with beer.  I have tried to make a biscuit  with just about everything that you can think of that could go in a biscuit.  I have had disappointments and great discoveries and I am still learning.  If you have any questions about biscuits, you may wanna ask me but just get prepared for a long discussion because I love biscuits and I love for someone to just say that they can make a biscuit from scratch.  It is sad but the day of the homemade biscuit is about as obsolete as the the rotary dial phone. Keep biscuits alive people, keep biscuits alive.
